Success story: Marlcliffe Community Primary School
When budgets are tight, every contribution towards making your reading zone or library an enjoyable and comfortable space can make a difference. Last year, Marlcliffe Community Primary School raised over their fundraising target for new nature-themed soft seating to give their library a magical boost.
Marlcliffe’s Headteacher, Clare, signed the school up for Support your school. “We chose Support your school as it combined a school fundraising platform with the ability to purchase the items we needed.”
Rallying the wider community
As part of their fundraising campaign, Marlcliffe Community Primary School shared their campaign URL link widely with families through their school email system. “We also asked families to sign post further to local companies, too.”
Ask, and you shall receive! Through the great support from the wider community, the school smashed their target and ended their campaign with £1,650 in their donation pot.
Boosting the library with new furniture...
We’re always happy to hear the impact of school fundraising, and Marlcliffe’s efforts paid off: "What we were able to purchase through fundraising provided enough seating for an entire class!” The school purchased nature-themed soft seating and cushion bundles through Peters, including the campfire bundle and the teacher set of toadstools to add a bit of adventure to their library. “It has allowed our school library to be used fully."
...and new books!
Because they raised more than their fundraising target, the school was able to invest in more than just the library furniture. “With the remaining funds, we were also able to purchase more books for the library, which will further support our children’s love for reading.”
