Success story: Beeston Primary School

We’re always excited to hear school fundraiser success stories. To date, schools have raised over £50,000 on Support your school with the help of their school and local communities, and local businesses!

One school who recently joined our free fundraising platform is Beeston Primary School. A small village school with approximately 60 pupils, their fundraising committee, Friends of Beeston School, wanted to raise money towards getting brand new books for each of their classes.

Christina, the Fundraising Committee Chairman, signed the school up for Support your school. “We chose Support your school because of the great support, and it made it easy to fundraise.”

Fundraising online and offline

So how did Friends of Beeston School go about fundraising? “We carried out many fun events in 2023, such as a Halloween and Christmas party,” Christina told us. “So far this year we have organised a Valentine’s disco, and an Easter afternoon tea. We’re currently planning a family fun day for the summer.”

Their in-person events worked hand in hand with their online fundraiser. “It was great to be able to share the book fundraising page easily with staff and parents, as we had so many events going on.”

Brand new books

At the end of their first campaign, Beeston Primary School raised a brilliant £400, all towards buying new books.

How will these books impact the school? Christina matched our enthusiasm: “Immensely! It has been a number of years since the school has received new books, so this was a much-needed campaign. The thanks from the teachers and children have made us very proud of what we have achieved.”

Friends of Beeston School are looking to start a new fundraising campaign later in the year. So, would Christina recommend us? “Yes, definitely. Support your school made the whole ordering process of our new books very easy indeed.”
