Fiction and Non-Fiction Book Appeal
Donate
At Olton Primary, reading is one of our key focuses. We want to instil a love of reading in all our pupils and get them to read more at home. International evidence indicates reading for pleasure offers cognitive, social and emotional benefits, helping children make connections with each other, their teachers, families and the wider world.
When the new build is finished in 2021, and the whole school is on one site, we will be able to create a fantastic new library and resource space. However, as you are aware, with diminishing budgets, we do not have the money available to purchase much-needed new books to furnish the library.
Following on from our amazing Book Week, we are launching a new fundraising campaign. We would appreciate your support in raising funds to purchase new Fiction and Non-Fiction Books. Whether you work for a company that would be prepared to donate, have a business yourself or would like to donate as a parent, carer or grandparent, we would be most grateful!
We are looking to raise £1000, which we will use to buy new books for both infants and juniors. We will also keep some money back in order that we can buy more titles as the year goes on, always ensuring the children have something new and exciting to read.
The minimum donation is £5 but if you wanted to donate less, you could hand this in at the office.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding our fundraising campaign.
Kind regards,
Miss Barnes
