Kings’ School Library refurbishment

Our busy library is a hive of activity from before the school day starts, with pupils from all years making use of the space to catch up on homework or catch up with friends. Years and years of use by lively teenagers have left the room looking a little shabby and in need of some TLC. And I am happy to say that there are plans afoot to do just that. The smart new library is due to open its doors in September after a long-awaited refurbishment. As well as cosmetic improvements such as a new carpet and window blinds, there will be structural changes – much more than just a lick of paint. The room is to be divided into a dedicated classroom area, and a separate reading library. The removal of the temporary walls will open up the Fiction area, and new seating will allow pupils to read on their own in quiet spaces or with friends. Additional space will be made available for displays and our book stock will be showcased on fixed bays as well as movable shelving. We think a fresh new reading space is just what the Kings’ Community needs, and we look forward to welcoming one and all to our sparkling new library. Please help to support us, if you can. Any donations towards our refurb project would be really appreciated. Thank you.
