John Blow Primary School

At John Blow Primary, we are passionate about reading and we hope to instil a love of reading in all our pupils. In order to achieve this, we need to inspire them with new books! We want our children to read more at home. International evidence indicates reading for pleasure offers cognitive, social and emotional benefits, helping children make connections with each other, their teachers, families and the wider world. To get the best quality texts we would appreciate your support in raising funds to help boost our allocated budget. We would like to raise the funds for a collection of Empathy Lab Books that we will use in school and award some as spot prizes. We would also like the money to go towards New Non-Fiction Books for the Library as our current collection is somewhat outdated. The aim is to raise £500. We want to raise the profile of reading, it is a skill we take for granted, yet one that is essential for being able to get on in life and aim high.
