70th Birthday Book Appeal
Donate
At Hamstead Infant School, we are passionate about reading, but due to increasingly diminishing budgets, we do not have the finance needed to update our reading provision. Reading is a key priority for our School Improvement Plan. We want to instil a love of reading in all our pupils where they read for pleasure and in order to achieve this, we need to inspire them with wonderful new and exciting books!
We would like to raise funds for a collection of New Fiction Books and Banded Reading Books that the children can use for free reading and home reading. Our current collection is somewhat outdated.
To celebrate our 70th birthday this year We are aiming to raise £700! This money will help us to buy books that we currently do not have, but also keep a reserve to buy new titles that are released as the year goes on, ensuring the children always have something new and exciting to read. It will also help us buy book sets for our guided reading sessions.
Reading is a skill we take for granted, yet one that is essential for being able to get on in life and aim high academically. As a child grows up, being able to read well not only enables them to discover new facts but also opens them up to a world of new ideas, stories and opportunities.
Please do not hesitate to contact me on or email. if you have any questions regarding our fundraising campaign.
Kind regards,
